Daniel Robert "Danny" Elfman (born May 29, 1953) is an American composer, best known as the lead singer and songwriter for the rock band Oingo Boingo, from 1976 to 1995 and later for scoring music for television and film and creating The Simpsons main title theme as well as the 1989 Batman movie theme.

Danny Elfman's booking was undoubtedly a gamble, but it's one that pays off many times over as the ‘Simpsons' composer delivered a multi-faceted, unusual Coachella debut on Saturday (16 April).
It was little more than a year ago that the unimaginable happened. After 19 years, Danny Elfman returned to the stage, albeit without Oingo Boingo. It was supposed to be a limited run, but Elfman brought a little Christmas magic to the Albert Hall with his Music Of Tim Burton Films set.
