Allen Toussaint (January 14, 1938 - November 10, 2015) was an American musician, songwriter/composer, record producer, and influential figure in New Orleans R&B.
The evening’s opening act featured club fixture Nigel Price backed by a double-bassist and drummer, sharing the stage with saxophonist Vasilis Xenopoulos. Their mellow jazz instrumentals proved the perfect appetiser before Allen Toussaint.
That was one of the concerns ahead of this triple headline show featuring New Orleans legends Jon Cleary Dirty Dozen Brass Band and the great Alan Toussaint.
