The Darkness have always been a band of gleeful contradiction—self-aware glam theatrics mixed with genuine, airtight musicianship—and their show at the Fillmore on November 13 proved they’re still masters of that balance. If anything, they’ve only doubled down.
The Darkness returned to Southern California in support of their eighth studio album Dreams On Toast. The sold-out Wiltern was jam-packed with loyal fans on fire in anticipation of this performance.
Simply put, The Darkness are, without a doubt, one of the best bands you can ever see live. And I don’t say that lightly because, as you probably know, I catch hundreds of bands every year.
