Playing mostly songs from their 2015 record Hotel Parties, though the venue wasn't sold out, it was filled with fans passionate for their tunes.
Balancing between heavy metal and punk, yet centering around accessible hooks, the Planet would rage hard then let intricate instrumentation create a floaty atmosphere.
Their music incorporates reverb-soaked four-part harmonies supported by pedal steel guitar, rhythmic percussion, banjo, mandolin, and acoustic and electric guitars with heavy feedback — masterful goods.
but the six young men of Futurebirds made themselves right at home in Milwaukee Thursday night, winning over a sparse Cactus Club crowd with a cathartic set of noisy Southern rock.
The verdict? Things are going well in Georgia and the musical epicenters of Atlanta and Athens continue to serve as fertile grounds for new bands of all different flavors to prosper, grow and develop a following.
