Two hard rock titans, Godsmack and Staind, live up to the longevity at AFI Amphitheater
They partied like it was really 1999 again on Wednesday night, Aug. 9, at the Pine Knob Music Theatre — a fists-in-the-air, devil’s sign-waving celebration of brawny hard rock led by two of the era’s most successful acts.
Although not a stranger to unplugging from time to time, the decision take a country detour as a solo artist took many by surprise, however 2011’s single “Country Boy” picked right up where his platinum selling status left off.
Sporting a full beard, baseball cap, simple jeans and tee shirt, as soon as the singer got in front of the microphone, he transformed himself from ‘good ol' boy" to death metal rocker.
It has been almost three years since Staind had been on the stage of the Forum with their album The Illusion Of Progress, but tonight they were back and with their most recent self-titled album.
This latest encounter with Staind has expectedly enraptured the senses, swaddling the body like that scene in Kill Bill where Uma Thurman has been buried alive in a wooden coffin.
