“Damn, Tommy, I had to smoke a cigarette after that last song.” So said Jorma Kaukonen as he stood on stage alongside Tommy Emmanuel July 13 at Ohio’s Southern Theatre.
The Plaza Live in Orlando, Florida exploded with acoustic dynamite as Tommy Emmanuel and opener Gareth Pearson graced the stripped-down stage for an evening of finger-picking pizazz.
Tommy Emmanuel played a drum solo at his Oct. 6 concert in Columbus. This would be unremarkable except for the fact that, A) Emmanuel is an acoustic guitarist and, B) Emmanuel played only acoustic guitars – four to be precise – at his Oct. 6 concert in Columbus.
The Plaza Live in Orlando, Florida played host to a wonderful acoustic performance from Tommy Emmanuel and opener Ida Mae on a drizzly evening in Central Florida. The two acts wowed the almost-capacity crowd in the intimate setting of the erstwhile movie theater.
