Our blow-by-blow review of the biggest heavy metal show ever as Black Sabbath triumphantly bow out
Opening the show with graphics of a burning world Sabbath stayed true to their trademark ethos: the spirit of rebellion submerged within Gothic visuals.
This tour is proving a surprisingly unsentimental end to Black Sabbath, here on their last visit to the big smoke, playing their last ever shows after almost 50 years of metal mayhem, before they make their final exit in Birmingham next weekend.
However, there are no grand goodbyes or misty-eyed nostalgia, just three legendary metal musicians (with Tommy Clufetos replacing the original drummer, Bill Ward, who has been estranged since 2012) playing a blitzkrieg of hard rock for 100 minutes.
