Yard Act are a minimalist rock group based in Leeds, UK. Formed in 2019, Yard Act began life when friends Ryan Needham (Bass) and James Smith (Vocals) started creating minimalist rock tracks using a primitive drum machine and borrowed bass guitar. Later drafting in George Townend on drums, and Sammy Robinson on guitars whom they met at their spiritual home.
The uprising of Yard Act has been a rapid one and Brighton showed that off as well as any city. From playing a sold out Patterns only 2 years ago, the band were back playing the spectacular Brighton Dome.

In-stores tend to be strange affairs. This one was no different. The Vault is a new location in Dale End and I was struggling to remember what was in the building before HMV came along. As Yard Act singer James Smith mentioned this has to be the biggest HMV he, or any of us, has been in.
