Vista Kicks came onstage at the Fillmore to big cheers, and got the sold out crowd ready to go for Larkin Poe. But it quickly became clear their set would be way more than a warmup, as they kicked things into a rootsy groove with catalog standouts like “Gimme Love” and “Marceline.
Primarily performing material from their debut album Booty Shakers Ball, Vista Kicks pulled a few tracks out from their 2016 EP Chasing Waves this evening as well.
Ahead of their slot supporting The Rolling Stones in August of this year, I walk into VISTA KICKS’ first Liverpool gig expecting it to be rammed. Instead, I’m surrounded by around 30 people who all seem to be friends, only a few being fans enticed by the occasion.
