Brittney Denise Parks, better known as Sudan Archives, is a California-based violinist and vocalist, who writes, plays, and produces her own music. Drawing inspiration from the Sudanese fiddle, she is self-taught on the violin, and her unique songs also fold in elements of R&B, and experimental electronic music.

Sudan Archives delivers a unique, thrill-packed performance at Manchester Academy 2.
Sudan Archives brought her show to Auckland’s Powerstation last night and we were there. Sudan is an avant-garde violinist who channels sounds through loop pedals and is described as a “boundary-defying R&V innovator”.
A lot can change in 15 years. “The last time I was on this stage, it was with my last band, opening for Vampire Weekend, back in 2008!” said Caroline Polachek, formerly of Chairlift, currently a star all her own, with the excitement of a kid given free rein in Legoland.
