Marillion are a rock band formed in Aylesbury, England . Their 30-year career is marked by two distinctive phases; the early years fronted by Fish which saw their greatest commercial success, and much longer period fronted by Steve Hogarth in which the band have constantly re-invented themselves so as to continue to be relevant into the 21st century.
Marillion and their Friends From The Orchestra, played to a packed Royal Concert Hall last night to celebrate thirty years of front man Steve Hogarth joining the band following the departure of former vocalist Fish in late 1988, and what a celebration it was.
With such a large back catalogue of tracks to choose from, it was clear that Marillion weren’t on this tour for the nostalgia trip or to bring back fond memories of decades past.
