It’s been a long time for McRae to come back to this side of the border with fans based in South Wales typically travelling across to Bristol to see him.
Despite building up a loyal following (a fair few who are present - and vocal about it - in tonight's seated crowd) and touring to the same effect in the States McRae's ten-plus years in the industry have amounted to cult status at best.
Everyone has, at somepoint in their life dreamt of being able to pick up a guitar, strum away and pull that girl or guy with an amazing song, or leading thousands of people in a singalong.
Tom was teasing us, though, as the band goblincame crashing in to startle us on Me & Stetson (one that does feature on the new album), creating a goodtime vibe not associated with his recorded output.
