There's something special about getting to see your favourite band up close and in person. It's another to get the opportunity to meet them and ask any burning questions you've had over the years.
At this stage The Wombats are honorary Australians. I won't take any arguments for this case as their fanfare every time they return to Australia is nothing short of extraordinary.
Over the years, The Wombats really held it down for Britpop at a time when Bloc Party was middling around and Arctic Monkeys were a bit too big for the little guy anymore. The combination of excellent songwriting, earwormy hooks and vibrant, upbeat dance rock really hit home for a lot of people
Jaguar Jonze has a bit of history with The Wombats, being the main support of their previous tour. Due to that, the band asked her back to support them at their Melbourne show and she didn’t disappoint.
They're back in Nottingham, and everything feels the same - even after nineteen years, The Wombats remain one of the most exciting acts in the indie scene..
