The Disco Biscuits Leave Room to Dance at First Avenue
You might not call it a comeback but the Disco Biscuits are currently burning through what is, according to bassist Marc Brownstein, “the first legitimate 3 week Disco Biscuits touring situation in probably [15 years].”
The Disco Biscuits have always been something of an enigma. Even now, just two years shy of their thirtieth anniversary, the Philadelphia-based quartet continues to carve their own path in the jamband world’s increasingly homogenous musical landscape with their innovative “trancefusion” sound.
In the world of jam, every band that eventually makes it to the highest tier of professional performance does so because they have a specialty, something they excel at more than any other band that sets them apart from the rest.
A late show is a natural place to rectify this, and that's just what we got on Saturday, September 5, when the Philly foursome took over the Concord Music Hall in Chicago.
