Surfer Blood

Over a year ago, Surfer Blood released Carefree Theatre, their fifth studio album, and returned to their first label, Kanine Records. Surfer Blood finally toured behind the record and also returned to DC in a sold-out show at DC9 on Saturday. Ben Eisendrath was there to shoot the show.

Terry Malts, who opened the show, are supporting Surfer Blood on all dates of their current West Coast tour.

The first openers, Passport Radio, was a local band from Toronto (whose recorded songs reflect that with echoes of subway announcements).

To say that Surfer Blood is a band that has faced some changes in recent years would be a bit of an understatement.
