Some of you may remember the Brooklyn baroque-pop group from last year’s Underground Music Showcase where they tackled a headlining spot on the main stage.
The music project lead by composer Ellis Ludwig-Leone made its way back to our city in support of their third record, Belong, released earlier this month.
Eight musicians on one stage is a sight to behold, as well as a balancing act that can easily descend into unintentional chaos. That said, San Fermin, their talent, and their orchestral style of indie pop was chaos of the best kind on Thursday night at the Biltmore.
Looking around at attendees of the intimate Velvet Jones show, dancing, swaying, and staring in musical surrender to the horns, violin, and powerhouse vocals surrounding them, Tate can consider his goal collectively achieved.
Before considering any of the logistics of my move I went to the Internet in search of music venues eager to experience the endless musical possibilities that only Canada's largest city could offer me.
That’s exactly how I felt when I watched San Fermin and opener Natalie Prass nail their sets in front of a sold-out crowd at The Independent last Thursday.
