A voice that sounds like it's lived a lifetime's worth of heartache — if that's not a solid foundation for an indie folk singer-songwriter, then possessing the skills of a world-class multi-instrumentalist would most certainly assist those efforts.
He’s an effervescent character for sure and there’s a role for him across the road at the Frog & Bucket Comedy Club if he ever yearns for a career change.
Admittedly a deep cut ("You probably don't know it," as Vollebekk put it) — it's that Buckley is such an obvious comparator for the Montreal-based singer-songwriter: the soulful voice, the ethereal sense of phrasing and tone in the playing.
