Less is more when it comes to JMSN’s live show. For a bit over an hour, Detroit-born, Los Angeles-based JMSN proved how much can be done with just bass, guitar and drums as Christian Andrew Berishaj weaved and slinked his way through a set of artful alt-R&B and searing, soulful future blues.

Unfortunately, the stars just weren’t aligned for me the night of the show, and by the time I entered the mammal hall where his performance was set to take place, I was feeling a bit worn out from the day and hoping for a relatively low-key show.
