Dark Star Orchestra delights Deadheads during Meijer Gardens debut
In a land abundant with Grateful Dead tribute bands, Dark Star Orchestra (DSO) on February 2 in Sacramento, California, strengthened its unofficial claim as the quintessential torch bearers.
Dark Star Orchestra returned to The Paramount in Huntington on March 30th for the first time since November of 2019. Of course, this was originally scheduled for New Year's weekend, but the pandemic pushed off this, and countless shows were planned for that time.
The jam band enthusiasts—“aged Deadheads”—and hipsters alike, all made their way out from the depths of the Colorado Front Range for a night of Grateful Dead tribute and homage.
Friday night May 10th marked the fourth consecutive May that Dark Star Orchestra played the Space in Westbury. During that run, they’ve covered a 1977 show, a Europe ’72 classic, and an elective set with 1980s leanings.
