The 15th Viljandi Guitar Festival in Estonia embraces many genres this year including some impressive jazz performances making it a paradise for guitar lovers.
Saturday night, hundreds of rain-soaked fans filled the hallowed halls of the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall to be awe-struck by one of the greatest mandolin players of our time, Chris Thile.
Chris Thile loves playing at Wolf Trap. On Saturday evening, he called it “the best outdoor ampitheater in the world.” Over the years, Chris has played Wolf Trap with his main band, the Punch Brothers, and as the host of the (tragically) canceled NPR variety show Live From Here.
Looking at that picture and hearing that record's anguished songs of pained longing on, it was hard to imagine that Winchester would ever be where he is four decades later.
The red velvet seats of the Town Hall were filled with an eager audience, ready to be astounded by the musical abilities and personalities of these two men.
