First up was Airforce formed in 1987by Guitarist Chop Pitman and featuring former Iron Maiden drummer Doug Sampson. A great six song opening set with strong vocals from Flavio Lino who joined the lineup around 3 years ago.
Airforce opened the evening and they were loud. It may not have helped being stood right in front of the speaker stack, but they were loud! Not only were they loud, but they rocked and they totally put on a performance to be proud of.
Iron Maiden bassist Steve Harris surprised a few people back in 2012 when he first announced British Lion. British Lion has variously been described as a solo project and as a side-project, with Harris himself seeming to prefer the latter.
The roar of classic rock fills the Club Academy. Nine Miles Down from South Wales looked to be crammed on to the Club Academy stage tonight, there didnt seem to be much room to swing a cat but that didn't stop them from cutting loose at all.
