Ben Ottewell (born Benjamin Joseph Ottewell on 23 June 1976) is an English singer-songwriter. He is one of the three lead singers of the English indie rock band Gomez who, in 2011, embarked upon a solo-project, with the debut album Shapes & Shadows.

When is a Gomez show not a Gomez show? Tonight’s sold-out concert at the Tuning Fork is ostensibly billed as a Ben Ottewell and Ian Ball concert, but the tour itself is called Gomez by Request, and when the tour was announced earlier this year fans were asked to submit (Gomez) song requests for the setlist
While having had no new material recorded as Gomez since 2011, Ben Ottewell and Ian Ball are carrying the torch for the band while continuing to record solo and together – most recently with tour support Buddy on their 'Handbags' LP.
He’s just released his third album and, last night, he presented a good portion of that record to a live audience at Auckland’s Tuning Fork…his second solo show there in three years.
People may know him as the vocalist and lead guitarist from 90's rock indie band Gomez, but Ben Ottewell has certainly made a name for himself. Having gone solo almost 15 years after the band split, releasing two hit albums Shapes and Shadows and Rattlebag
