Bela Fleck (born July 10, 1958 in New York City, New York) is an American virtuoso banjo player. He is most well known for his work with the band Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, which he has described as "a mixture of acoustic and electronic music with a lot of roots in folk and bluegrass as well as funk and jazz.

The purchase of the ticket for this event was concluded within 3 minutes of them going on sale back in August of last year. Why the hurry? Well the simple answer is – it’s Bela Fleck, and we haven’t seen him in the UK since the 2020 all banjo tour with Abigail Washburn.
The show began sans Rakesh but he would join after the first song and remain for the remainder of the set. From the start until the end Edgar Meyer was absolutely driving the bus. His skilled fingers danced on the strings as the rest of the band followed along layering the melodies.
Three of bluegrass’ premier instrumentalists – banjoist Bela Fleck, mandolinist (and fiddler) Sam Bush and Dobro man Jerry Douglas lit up the stage (and proverbial marquee) at Rose Music Center at the Heights on June 30 for what was dubbed A Bluegrass Happening.
Closing out a jam-packed string of sold-out amphitheater shows, the banjoist — along with Jerry Douglas and Sam Bush — brought his ‘Bluegrass Happening’ to Grand Rapids on Monday.
Banjo virtuoso Béla Fleck returned to the city in which he was born and raised for a concert at Carnegie Hall celebrating his first bluegrass album in more than 20 years. For this concert, he brought along an accompanying retinue of esteemed bluegrass musicians.
With the release of his Grammy-nominated album My Bluegrass Heart earlier this year, Béla Fleck returned to his roots with a cast of the talented musicians who have collaborated with him along the way.
Hometown heroes Greensky Bluegrass revved up the fun at State Theatre for fans in Kalamazoo, with banjo phenom Bela Fleck fronting an all-star crew at Grand Rapids' DeVos Performance Hall.
