"I will open my eyes at some point, I'm just trying to hold it together”. Standing in the dark, shoulder to strangers whilst bathed in the intermittent grapefruit glow, there is a sense that we are watching musical history unfold.
In the cavernous space of the Village Underground, Anna B Savage came on stage looking daunted. Overwhelmed by the numbers packed into the former warehouse, the singer made no secret of her disbelief that so many new fans had packed out the venue.
