Anitta (born Larissa de Macedo Machado; March 30, 1993) is a Brazilian recording artist, songwriter, and dancer. The stage name "Anitta" was inspired by the Rede Globo miniseries Presenca de Anita.
Anitta’s slight, sweet soprano was sometimes lost in the more beats-heavy tunes, especially during the raucous sing-a-long that accompanied Vai Malandra, but her message of empowerment was palpable, extending to her constant, often mesmerising but arguably overdone twerking.
