Alejandro Escovedo weaves magic at The Hamilton Live on Oct. 21, 2023.
Alejando Escovedo has been playing music for a long time — longer than I’ve been alive. He recently told the audience at The Hamilton Live that he first came to DC in 1978 as part of the punk band The Nuns. They played the Atlantis with The Fleshtones.
Alejandro Escovedo is a man who needs no introduction, yet strangely, he does. For more than four decades the multi-faceted singer-songwriter has been notching up the kind of credibility of a rock and roll legend, playing in punk bands and then having a prolific solo career.
If we ever needed the healing power of music, it was last night. Fortunately Alejandro Escovedo and Adam McGrath were there to help ease the pain of what had happened just a few hours earlier.
