The Lovely Eggs

The night was billed as ‘Never mind the Jubilee, here’s The Lovely Eggs’, a reference to the gig being on over the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations. This was the last date of the UK tour with their biggest crowd so far at The O2 Ritz in Manchester, with a capacity of 1500.

The band formed in 2006 and soon gained recognition from the likes of BBC1's Marc Riley and Steve Lamacq.

While it goes without saying there remains an element of caution in the air; many of tonight's audience wear masks throughout the show while personal space is also a primary consideration this evening. Not just for one's self, but also those in close proximity as well.

I was aware of AK/DK having previously bought both their ‘Patterns/Harmonics' release and the current ‘Shared Particles' album, though this would be the first opportunity to see them live.
