It has been ten years since their last visit to Australia, and following on from an eighth album continuing in their vein of idiosyncratic math rock, rhythmic electronica and intellectual noodling Tortoise make their return.
If Tortoise is a post-rock band for people who want to like jazz but can’t really get into it, then consider their two-night engagement at the Aladdin Theater to be an extension of the Portland Jazz Festival for those who don’t like jazz.
