Tonight is the perfect finale for a week of shows of stunning importance.
The Mysterines are on the crest of a wave right now, scoring a Top Ten album with their scorching debut and blazing a trail across the country with their sold out tour landing in Manchester, right next door to John Hall's spiritual home The Rose & Monkey.
I'm not sure I could have chosen a better lineup if I was playing fantasy booking agent: one band on the edge of something big, another, Coach Party, who will be next year, and one, Fräulein, starting up with just four songs on the streaming platforms – four REALLY interesting songs.
Near non-stop touring as both headliners and in support slots and plenty of radio airtime has seen Liverpool guitar slingers The Mysterines sell out their last hometown gig of the year weeks in advance.
