The Lil Smokies formed under the big sky of Missoula, Montana in 2009 and have created an original assortment of music that can quench the most diverse musical pallets.
On a night when the world to be falling further apart thanks to coronavirus (this would be the night the NBA postponed the season), there stood The Lil Smokies to at least in some small measure save the day.
The early show started at 7 PM sharp with local artist Danno Simpson, accompanied by lone fiddle player Wes Barlow. Danno began his nascent musical career as a country crooner, but his sound has evolved into a more Americana approach.
The Lil Smokies had March 7 circled on their calendar for quite some time. For several months, the progressive bluegrass band from Missoula, Montana, anxiously anticipated stepping onto the stage at DCs legendary 9:30 Club for the very first time.
