It is really, really hard to sit down at a Sparks show. Portland’s Revolution Hall has the capability to exist as both a standing general admission club and a theater with seats (albeit removable, uncomfortable ones). For some inexplicable reason, whoever calls the shots figured people would want to sit during Sparks.
Sparks had their biggest hometown show ever at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles this past Sunday night. The triumphant finale of their 2023 world tour found the Mael brothers on the same stage as the show that had first kindled their passion for pop music.
