Neal Francis and Color Green Stir Up Powerful Rock n’ Roll One-two Punch at Portland, OR’s Revolution Hall
Neal Francis opened up the concert series for the Atomic Pavilion in The Grove in grand and truly groovy style this past Thursday. Perfectly lit with city light, stars that wish they could be seen, and a hefty dose of weed smoke as only Saint Louis city can provide, a huge crowd came out to welcome Francis.
It requires a double take to be completely sure that the man on stage is not a young Mick Jagger. But on March 26, the marquee at the Sinclair in Cambridge confirmed that it was, in fact, not a Stones cover band but rather Neal Francis — an artist far from the gimmick of emulating his influences.
Some artists out there could play in all the different spaces—stadiums, old theatres, jazz clubs, dive bars—and sound good in them all. Neal Francis, pop soul singer and keyboardist extraordinaire, and his three-member band are such an entity.
