Modern English, the renowned English post-punk band most famous for “I Melt With You,” is in the process of achieving a few career milestones.
Modern English visited The Birchmere recently to play through their album After the Snow in its entirety, in tracklist order. Well, they didn’t play *the one song* everyone wanted to hear in the tracklist, saving it for the end
School was in session, and Modern English arrived to show us how it’s done. The post-punk masters returned in very good form indeed with Take Me to the Trees, their self-released new album published in February, for an engrossing show at Rock and Roll Hotel on Tuesday.
Lover of new music and regular correspondent Keith Goldhanger usually stays away from the past but Modern English go back as far as any other band can go in his adult life.
