Friday night saw the stripped-down solo version of Julia Deans and her acoustic guitar as she celebrated the first vinyl release of her stunning 2010 album Modern Fables.
For this, the first iteration of the Sitting Room Sessions for this year that carries hopes of being a better one than the last shit-show (but hasn't started well, with its intimations of Trumped-up sedition), the venue was the sylvan setting of the Mangakuri Station Chapel
Julia Deans is solo tonight with just an acoustic guitar. With the opening song Clandestine and you are overwhelmed with a powerful voice. Powerful and sensual. The high peaks are hit effortlessly and sustained. Deep sadness. Twin Peaks floats down and surrounds. Kill ‘em and begin.
