On July 28, folk musician Gregory Alan Isakov played for a packed audience at Burlington’s Waterfront Park. The show was part of a series of summer concerts presented by Higher Ground and Cabot Creamery.

Located southwest of Cleveland, Ohio, my alma mater, Oberlin College and Conservatory of Music, enrolls less than 3,000 students annually. Its small size makes all the more remarkable the number of musicians who’ve attended.

This was not a gig to turn up late to well before the advertised doors opening time a sizeable portion of the audience were patiently queuing in the rapidly cooling clear April early evening.
