Bio
George Clinton (born July 22, 1941) is an American musician, widely considered one of the forefathers of funk. He was the mastermind of the bands Parliament and Funkadelic during the 1970s and early 1980s, and was a solo funk artist as of 1981.
George Clinton brought the funk to the Ritz Raleigh last month as part of Parliament Funkadelic's Just For The Funk Of It! Final Tour!?! The 82-year-old Clinton paraded out on stage barefoot and ready to rock for their two hour show.
By his own admission, George Clinton is a freak, and in the best possible way. James Brown may be considered the godfather of soul music, but the 81-year-old Clinton must be regarded as the Patriarch of funk.
