After seven songs not affiliated with either of the two popular bands he once fronted, Dean Wareham thanked the crowd for its patience and played Luna’s “23 Minutes in Brussels.
Since then his band has changed both name and members: from Luna in the 90s when he met bassist Britta Philips whom he later married to Dean and Britta (a musical duo comprised of himself and his wife) after Luna split up in 2005.
With a career now entering its’ fourth decade, Wareham is no stranger to these parts or the road for that matter, having toured hard and heavy with his previous outfits, the seminal bands Galaxie 500 and Luna.
Whether it was through his short-lived but much-loved Galaxie 500 or his criminally overlooked successor Luna Wareham's music has remained precious to a devoted cult audience.
