Critic Consensus
Based on 29 concert reviews, the critic consensus is that Alabama 3 is rated as an impressive live performer, with many notable strengths. Alabama 3 concert reviews describe live shows and performances as electrifying, eclectic, infectious, funky, raucous, and upbeat.
Alabama 3 are a band originating from Brixton, England, their music incorporates elements of country, acid house, blues and gospel. Named for the Alabama 2, a legal case in the American deep South during the 1930s, in which two black men were hanged for allegedly raping a white woman.
The night kicked off with the opening act Aaron Rowe taking the stage to perform 5 songs. His vocals were strong and he had a good mix of upbeat and slow songs.
Its 8.30 and the intro kicks in which is called ESE Intro, thinking due to the fact its the only time Sister ESE plays an instrument, that being the guitar as other members arrive on stage and join in.
Tonight's Alabama 3 gig will be my full first foray out into the breath and sweat of the dance floor in about eighteen months, and for the last week I've wrestled internally about the prospect of getting ill or passing on any illness.
It's been a long time coming but Brixton's perennial sharp-shooters Alabama 3 are once again hungry for that “Sweet Pretty Muthafuckin Country Acid House Music.”
