The Shins celebrated the 21st anniversary of their debut album, Oh Inverted World, at Chicago Theatre on Thursday, September 8. The project, which was released in 2001, showcased a pensive wistfulness that the Alburquerque facet specialize in.
The world was a different place twenty years ago and it was still possible that a more or less unknown indie rock band from the Pacific Northwest could drop an album that would become part of the cultural lexicon for the next decade.
