Lambchop is an American alt-country band from Nashville, Tennessee, the capital of country music. Originally called Posterchild, the band (which formed in 1986) cannot easily be classified into a genre and certainly not into that of traditional country music.

Paring down their usual country soul mini-orchestra set up to a three-piece, Nashville icons Lambchop’s first Perth show in 12 years at Badlands was a true masterclass in the art of sonic reinvention and subtlety.
Having previously experimented with lounge music and vintage soul, the Nashville trio are currently promoting their new R&B influenced album FLOTUS (For Love Often Turns Us Still).
Only half-jokingly, Wagner stated that this latest evolution in Lambchop’s sound (which has always been a fluid project) was due to his ambition of making songs that would fit onto his wife Mary’s phone playlist.
