For the first time in two years, American singer-songwriter Jesse Malin returns to London after suffering a rare spinal stroke in 2023 that left him paralysed from the waist down, abruptly halting a career built on decades of restless touring.
Jesse Malin pulled into his local surroundings on Saturday Night March 25th to play Webster Hall celebrating the 20th anniversary of his debut solo album, The Fine Art of Self Destruction. The sold-out crowd was full of old friends and family as the East Village mainstay was warmly welcomed home.
Expectations were toned down, best to not get too excited, right? If we are indeed ‘post' anything then it's possible to observe that the post lockdown / Covid / pandemic gig has been a bit of a mixed bag.
