Jake Shears (born Jason Sellards on October 3, 1977 in Arizona) is the vocalist for the American alternative music group the Scissor Sisters. Sellards attended Occidental College in Los Angeles.
The pace was sustained throughout, never faltering, with Shears clearly having fun on stage. He seems to be in a happy place and it was a pleasure to be invited into his world, even if it was just for one night.
When Scissor Sisters burst on to the international stage in 2003 they were a revelation, a band forged on New York’s gay nightclub scene who took 1970s rock and 1980s pop and infused them with a much-needed dose of humour and sparkle.
He is wearing a grey top hat, a white tail-jacket with glittered lapel-edging, silver glittery trousers, a tight black sequinned vest top, and a bow tie on his bare neck.
