Awash in an intensely moody light show and backlit glory, The Dandy Warhols made an epic and beautiful return to St. Louis at Delmar Hall on Saturday night. It had been a decade since I had seen them last, and if I recall properly, I believe it was at the Ready Room. We were well overdue for a show this cool in Lou.
With a storming set that dominates the Roundhouse are New Candys, a pleasure of a support band who have been touring with the Dandys throughout Europe. Without fuss or ado, or any lights to speak of, they set about bombarding the room with their loud, atmospheric, addictive songs.
Despite being billed as a 25th anniversary celebration, the double bill of The Dandy Warhols and local indie pop legends Even at Forum Theatre (3 November) could easily have been mistaken for a time machine to 2001.
