After living in New York for a few years, Royel returned home broke and started working in a bar, where he met Otis fresh out of school. After hanging around on a night out with friends, Otis showed Royel some of the demos he had been working on.

Aussie indie-pop duo Royel Otis played two sold-out shows in Manchester over the weekend, and I went to see night one at the O2 Victoria Warehouse. It was everything you could have ever dreamed of and more.
The Factory hosted a kick-ass good time with bands from England and Australia bringing their vibes to us in full force. Start the night off was BBY (pronounced baby), a band out of London whose young and fresh energy blended with a tight, close setup on stage.
Royel Otis brought their meet me in the car tour to a sold-out crowd at the Ritz Raleigh on September 16th. We're big fans of Royel Otis and weren't going to miss their visit to our state!
