Ratatat, from Brooklyn, New York, United States is an electronic music duo: guitarist Mike Stroud and synthesizer driver and producer Evan Mast (E*Vax). Stroud and Mast originally met as students at Skidmore College, but did not work together musically until 2001, when their project was named Cherry (later the name of the final song on their debut album).

In the midst of their stint on the Groovin’ The Moo tour the Brooklyn-based duo made a pit stop in Sydney to bring their unique electronic rock to punters who either didn’t get a chance to catch them at GTM or who didn’t get enough over the weekend.
They leaned into the awkwardness with a set full of maximalist electro-pop: gimmicks like pitch-shifted vocals and the use of Dance Dance Revolution and Guitar Hero peripherals as MIDI controllers added some personality to the show.
The crowd outstretched before the stage was too perfect, full of the sort of eccentrics you might expect to find wading through waist-deep snowdrifts for a psychedelic experience.
Brooklyn based duo, Ratatat, made a stop uptown at Hammerstein Ballroom to show off their skills as both multi-instrumentalists and visual performers as they near the end of another tour.
Ratatat started from humble beginnings, two guys – Evan Mast and Mike Stroud – started making music in their Brooklyn apartment just after the turn of the millennium.
How had I been oblivious to; Ratatat; for such a long time?; The ‘Rocktronica' duo formed way back in 2001, releasing their first album ‘Ratatat' in 2004.
