As I arrived at The Drake Hotel after picking up my NXNE media wristband I immediately noticed Himanshu Suri aka Heems standing out front talking with a small group of people. As the conversation was winding down he asked for everyone’s names and shook their hands politely. Not exactly the type of behavior yo
After plugging in and quickly giving the levels a test he DJ'd his entire set from the phone wholly aware that the abrupt song changes added an anticlimactic element to the show.
The New York rapper dropped his first proper solo LP Eat Pray Thug back in March an excellent record that tells a heavy-handed story of what it’s like to like in a perpetually post-9/11 New York as a person of Indian descent.
